Me introducing Arthurium III
You may be wondering why Arthurium III? We haven’t seen Arthurium II yet, and this is technically not a hybrid….
Well Art II is still ripening as an infructescence and will be released later this year. I decided to just give every creation I assist with here a numerical seed-batch-identifier based on order pollinated. So this is Arthurium III aka Anthurium papillilaminum ‘Ft Sherman’ x self SHERM x Anthurium papillilaminum ‘Ft Sherman’ x ‘Ralph Lynam’ (and nobody wants to type or say that anymore than they have to).
The parent plants ensure there are going to be some dark velvet Canal killers lurking in this batch.
Anthurium papillilaminum ‘SHERM’ x Anthurium papillilaminum ‘FS’ x ‘RL’
Created using two killer examples of JV’s Canal Zone papillilaminum Arthurium III is my first pure species Arthurium. The seed parent is SHERM and the pollen parent can be seen in images 4-5. The pollen parent was grown by Dwane B in his private collection in Georgia. Dwane specializes in cultivating Anthurium papillilaminum and his examples of the species are some of the best found anywhere.
