Anthurium antolakii

The species traded as BVEP now has a new name. It has been diagnosed but not published. It is listed on the TROPICOS registry.

This species was brought to market in 2020 and has been traded under the name Black Velvet Eastern Panama “BVEP”. The new name is Anthurium antolakii Vannini & Croat (source). Antolakii is a reference to the long-time plantsman that collected the holotype for this species: Rory Antolak. This is one of the most attractive velvet leaf Anthuriums in cultivation, full stop.
