This is my favorite velvet leaf Anthurium. This name SHERM is just a pet-name I use to identify my Anthurium papillilaminum ‘Ft Sherman’ x self. This name helps me identify this plant for breeding purposes. There are probably more dramatic plants from this seed batch out there, but SHERM has a balanced combination of lobe structure and darkness that give it a distinct look. It has been a pleasure to grow this plant since early 2021 when I received it in a 3.75” cube from The Bay Area based collector of the exotic-esoteric himself: Jay V. Care:

Light: 250fc 18hr/day full spectrum LED light (AC Infinity IONBOARD)

Water: RO water 3 x week

Mix: Aroid mix (4 pts orchid bark, 2 pt tree fern fiber, 1 pt med hort charcoal, 1 pt lrg pumice, 1 pt small pumice)

Nutrients: MSU k-lite, silica, kelp, chelated iron, incredible bulk bloom booster—1 per week. Gypsum, dolomitic lime, and nutricote mixed in the potting media for long term nutrients.
